Cost of aluminium windows
Aluminium is the dearer of the two materials, and how much dearer is below, in amounts taken from our own quotes: per element, per m² and added up for a whole house. They're supply-only prices in GBP, excluding UK VAT and import duties, without fitting — not a fitted price. For your own sizes, the configurator works it out.
What aluminium windows and doors cost with us
Measured on our own quotes from February 2023 to July 2026 inclusive, per unit at the size in the table. The amount is the median; the range runs from the lower to the upper quarter of the observations. Prices in GBP, excl. UK VAT and import duties, which are payable on delivery; excluding delivery and installation. This is a guide price, not a quote.

Price per m² = the measured amount divided by the area of the size in the table. Where there is a dash, the spread is too wide for a single amount and the range is what counts.

Why aluminium costs more than uPVC
The profile itself is dearer: aluminium is extruded and thermally broken, and the powder coating is a separate process. Against that, aluminium is stronger, so a window can be slimmer and larger than in uPVC. For a three-metre sliding patio door or a window with a slim sightline, aluminium is often the only choice, and the price comes with it.
Glass and colour work the same as with uPVC: HR++ double glazing (Ug 1.1) is the standard choice in the configurator, triple glazing costs more per m². RAL 9010 is the standard coating; a smooth RAL colour came out at no extra cost in our measurement, while a fine texture, metallic or anodised look is a separate powder range and costs extra.
Is fitting included?
No. We supply, we don't install; you arrange the fitting yourself or with a local builder or installer, and delivery to the UK is quoted with your offer. So fitting isn't in the table above. Bear in mind that in England replacing windows is notifiable building work: an installer registered with a competent person scheme, such as FENSA or Certass, notifies it, or you notify building control first — and because we don't install, that's for your installer.
Why our price is lower
We buy from the manufacturers of Aluprof and Reynaers on the volume of thousands of projects, with no showroom, salesperson or fitting team in between. What's left is the factory price plus our margin, and that's on the offer. The About Rovenzia page explains how it works.
Aluminium windows cost per m²
Work per window: width times height gives the square metres, and the calculator puts the measured price per m² for that size band against it. Small windows cost more per m² than large ones, because hardware and corners don't grow with them.
How long aluminium windows last
We don't give a fixed figure. Aluminium doesn't rust and the powder coating doesn't need painting; hardware and seals need some care now and then.
Your own RAL colour
With aluminium you aren't limited to the fourteen colours in the configurator. If you have a RAL number from your architect or from existing windows, you enter it; any colour from the RAL Classic range is possible, and you choose the gloss level with it. What that colour means for your windows is in the quote. In uPVC that option doesn't exist, because uPVC is foiled.
Aluminium and the Building Regulations
In England, a replacement window has to reach a U-value of 1.4 W/m²K or WER band B, and may not be worse than the window it replaces. That value is for the whole window, frame and glass together, so an aluminium window is held to the same limit as a uPVC one; the U-value of each whole window is in your quote. Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own rules.

What does an aluminium window cost per m²?
The table above gives the price per m² for each kind of element, derived from the measured amount and the size it was measured at. A sliding patio door isn't necessarily dearer per m² than a window: the area is large and the profile is priced over that whole size.
Do these prices include VAT?
No. Prices in GBP, excl. UK VAT and import duties, which are payable on delivery. On export outside the EU we charge 0% Dutch VAT. Delivery to the UK is quoted with your offer, and fitting isn't included: we supply, we don't install.
Is this a quote?
