Aluminium is stronger than uPVC, so the frame can be slimmer to look at and larger in size — up to 6,000 × 3,000 mm — and any RAL colour is possible.
Configure your windows online and receive a made-to-measure quote within three working days.
You configure each type to your own sizes in the configurator. Choose below where to start.
Choose type, profile, size, glass and colour in the configurator. You see your window in the drawing straight away.
We ask the manufacturer for the price and send you a quote for your sizes.
Once you accept, your window goes into production. You pay after accepting, by invoice.
Delivery to the UK is quoted with your offer. You fit it yourself or with your own installer.
Uf, frame depth and sightline come from the profile table. The corner section is the manufacturer's render of exactly this profile: for Aluprof always the same shot — closed corner, close up — and for Gealan the render of the S 9000 NL family. The maximum sash width is on every profile page.
No form first: you watch your window take shape as you choose. The price follows in the quote, within three working days.
Inside and outside can differ; you choose both in the configurator.
Aluminium is stronger than uPVC, and that is the whole argument. Stronger means slimmer: our slimmest aluminium sightline for outer frame and sash together is 89 mm (Reynaers CS 77), where the Gealan S 9000 in uPVC is at 119 mm. Stronger also means wider: up to 6,000 mm for the window systems, where the Gealan S 9000 NL in uPVC stops at 3,200 mm. More glass, less frame, and openings that cannot be made in uPVC.
Our aluminium profiles run from 59 to 110 mm frame depth and from Uf 0.57 to 2.35 W/m²K. That spread is wide, and it is not carelessness: the MB-86N at 0.57 is the best-insulating profile we supply, uPVC and aluminium taken together, while the lift-and-slide systems sit at 1.80 because there size and slimness came before insulation. So look at the profile, not the material.
Aluminium is powder coated, so you are not tied to a foil colour card: any RAL colour is possible, smooth or textured. Where aluminium comes out more expensive is the ordinary window in an ordinary opening — there the extra strength gives you nothing you can see.
We make every aluminium window to the overall size you enter, to the millimetre, and measure it before dispatch.
You put your window together online in the configurator: profile, layout, size, colour and glass. You get the quote within three working days; we deliver to your door.
We supply aluminium profiles from Aluprof and Reynaers. Depth, sightline and Uf are on each profile page.
We buy from the manufacturers and supply made to measure, without a showroom and without fitting. So you pay the factory price plus delivery.
That depends on size, layout, glass and colour, which is why there is no figure here. The guide price on the profile pages is the advance indication; the configurator itself shows no price. You send your configuration as a request, and within three working days you hear from us with a quote for your sizes — if it takes longer, you hear that within the same three days. Prices in GBP, excl. UK VAT and import duties, which are payable on delivery.
Two brands: Aluprof (MB-79N, MB-86N, MB-Ferroline, the lift-and-slide doors MB-59HS and MB-77HS and the bifold MB-86 Fold Line HD) and Reynaers (ConceptSystem 77, MasterLine 8, SlimLine 38, ConceptPatio 130 and ConceptFolding 77). Each profile has its own page with the cross-section, the dimensions and a comparison with its neighbours.
Bigger than uPVC, and that is the reason to choose aluminium for a sliding patio door or a bifold. The maximum size differs per profile and is on each profile page; the configurator refuses a size the chosen profile cannot take.
The Aluprof MB-86N, with Uf 0.57 W/m²K — the lowest in our whole range, uPVC included. Note that Uf is about the frame profile; what the window does as a whole also depends on the glass, and the configurator works that through for you.
Aluminium conducts heat far better than uPVC, so an aluminium profile has to have a thermal break: a plastic strip in the middle that separates the inner and outer shell. All our aluminium profiles have one. Don't look at the material but at the Uf on the profile page — there our best-insulating profile is at 0.57 and our uPVC at its best at 1.00.
Yes, aluminium is powder coated. We distinguish smooth powder coating from textured or metallic coating; the latter goes through the oven one more time and so costs more. Which colours are available on your profile, the configurator tells you.
Because the two systems are about different things. Our aluminium lift-and-slide profiles are at Uf 1.80 and the uPVC ones at 1.10 — but the aluminium ones are 59 to 130 mm deep where the uPVC ones need 190 to 194 mm. That matters where the door meets an existing floor build-up. If you want the best insulation in a sliding patio door, uPVC is the better choice here.
They can, but it is decided by the whole window, not by the material. In England, Approved Document L asks of a replacement window a **U-value of 1.4 W/m²K or Window Energy Rating band B**, and the new window may not be worse than the one it replaces. That U-value is the **Uw of the whole window**, frame and glass together — so here, unlike a glass-only rule, the frame counts, and this is where the spread in Uf between our aluminium profiles matters. The Uf on the profile page is the frame alone and is not the figure Part L asks for; the Uw of the whole window is in your offer. Replacing windows is notifiable work in England and Wales: the installer is registered with a competent person scheme (such as FENSA or Certass) and notifies it, or you notify building control beforehand. We supply, we don't install, so your installer arranges this. Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own rules; check them locally.
We don't give a fixed figure: it depends on the exposure of the elevation and the care of hardware and seals. Aluminium doesn't rust and the powder coating doesn't need painting.
Aluminium is strong, so the frame is slimmer in view and can go larger, and any RAL colour is possible. Our best insulating aluminium profile has a frame Uf of 0.57 W/m²K.
Like any window: old window out, new one set true, fixed and sealed all round. We don't install; you or an installer of your choice do that.
Choose type, profile, size, glass and colour. Within three working days you receive a quote for your sizes — with no obligation.
