VEKA uPVC windows, supply only

VEKA makes uPVC window profiles. We offer three of them, all from the Softline range: the 70 AD, the 76 MD and the 82 MD. The number is the frame depth in millimetres; the letters tell you how the sash seals against the outer frame. You put your window together in the configurator and receive a made-to-measure quote. Supply only.

What the three Softline profiles have in common

All three are uPVC profiles with a sash that opens inwards. You choose from a fixed window, tilt and turn, side-hung, tilt-only or a door on the same profile. A window that opens outwards, top-hung or bottom-hung, isn't part of any of the three. If that is what you want, look at a Dutch version such as the Gealan S 9000.

Softline 70 AD, 76 MD and 82 MD: the difference

The Softline 70 AD is 70 mm deep, has 5 chambers, takes glass up to 42 mm and reaches Uf 1.3 W/m²K. The Softline 76 MD is 76 mm deep, also has 5 chambers, takes glass up to 48 mm and reaches Uf 1.1 W/m²K. The Softline 82 MD is 82 mm deep, with 7 chambers in the outer frame and 6 in the sash, glass up to 54 mm and Uf 1.0 W/m²K. Each extra 6 mm makes room for thicker glass and a lower Uf.

AD or MD: two or three seals

AD stands for a rebate seal: the sash closes against the outer frame with two seals, one on the inside and one on the outside. MD stands for a centre seal: there is a third seal between them, in the middle of the profile. So the 70 AD has two, and the 76 MD and 82 MD have three.

Which Softline suits your opening?

If there is little depth in the wall, as is often the case in renovation work, the 70 AD sits least far into the opening. At Uf 1.3, though, it insulates less well than most of the uPVC profiles we offer. For a new build, the 76 MD and 82 MD are the more obvious choice, and the 82 MD insulates best of the three. In view, the difference is small: about 99 mm of frame and sash for the 70 AD, 112 mm for the 76 MD and 114 mm for the 82 MD. Those are guide dimensions; the final size is in your quote.

Colour and glass

Uf is the heat loss through the profile itself, not through the whole window. For the window, the glass (Ug) and the ratio between profile and glass count too — and the U-value limit in Approved Document L applies to the whole window (Uw), so the Uf alone doesn't tell you whether a window complies. Which glass and colours are available on your Softline is shown by the configurator: it won't accept a combination that doesn't exist. If you want to see a colour in daylight first, ask us whether a sample can be sent to you in the UK.

VEKA windows prices

We have no fixed price list for VEKA windows, and no guide price from earlier quotes yet either. The price depends on the profile, the outside size, the layout, the glass and the colour. You put your window together and send it as a request; within three working days you have your made-to-measure quote. Prices in GBP, excl. UK VAT and import duties, which are payable on delivery. Delivery to the UK is quoted with your offer. We supply, we don't install; a local installer fits the windows.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about VEKA

Which VEKA profiles do you supply?

Three from the Softline range: the 70 AD, the 76 MD and the 82 MD. All three are uPVC, and each has its own profile page with its sizes.

What is the difference between Softline 70, 76 and 82?

The frame depth, and what goes with it. The 70 AD is 70 mm deep, with glass up to 42 mm and Uf 1.3. The 76 MD is 76 mm deep, with glass up to 48 mm and Uf 1.1. The 82 MD is 82 mm deep, with glass up to 54 mm and Uf 1.0.

What do AD and MD mean?

AD is a rebate seal: two seals between sash and outer frame. MD is a centre seal: there is a third seal in the middle of the profile.

Can a VEKA window open outwards?

No. On all three Softline profiles the sash opens inwards: tilt and turn, side-hung or tilt-only. If you want a window that opens outwards, top-hung or bottom-hung, choose a different profile, such as the Gealan S 9000.

What do VEKA windows cost?

That depends on the profile, the size, the layout, the glass and the colour, so we don't give a fixed price. You put your window together in the configurator and get a made-to-measure quote within three working days. Prices in GBP, excl. UK VAT and import duties, which are payable on delivery.

Do you install VEKA windows?

No. We supply, we don't install. Production takes 6 to 8 weeks, and delivery to the UK is quoted with your offer. In England and Wales, replacing windows is notifiable building work: an installer registered with a competent person scheme notifies it, or you notify building control before work starts.

Is VEKA uPVC or aluminium?

uPVC. If you are looking for aluminium, look at Aluprof or Reynaers in our range.
