The bluEvolution 82 MD

The bluEvolution 82 MD is 82 mm deep and has 6 chambers. It closes with a centre seal: three sealing levels between outer frame and sash. The profile reaches Uf 0.98 W/m²K. That is the heat loss through the profile itself; for the whole window, the glass and the ratio between profile and glass count too, and the U-value limit in Approved Document L applies to that whole window (Uw). Frame and sash together are about 123 mm wide in view, a guide dimension.

Room for glass up to 60 mm

What sets this profile apart is the glass thickness. It takes glass up to 60 mm, more than any other uPVC profile we offer. If you want thick glass in your window, that is the reason to look at the bluEvolution.

Windows that open inwards

All windows in this profile open inwards: tilt and turn, side-hung or tilt-only, and a door on the same profile. A window that opens outwards, top-hung or bottom-hung, isn't part of it. Many British windows do open outwards. If that is what you want, a Dutch version such as the Gealan S 9000 suits better.

Comparable profiles in our range

Because we offer only one Salamander profile, we set out here what sits alongside it. The VEKA Softline 82 MD and the Schüco LivIng Vlak are just as deep, 82 mm, with Uf 1.0; the Softline takes glass up to 54 mm, the LivIng Vlak up to 52 mm. The Gealan S 9000 MD is 82.5 mm deep and has a lower Uf, 0.89, with glass up to 52 mm. If you have less depth in the wall, the Kömmerling 76 MD is an option: 76 mm, also 6 chambers and a centre seal, Uf 1.0 and glass up to 50 mm.

We have no fixed price list for Salamander windows, and no guide price from earlier quotes yet either. The price depends on the outside size, the layout, the glass and the colour. You put your window together and send it as a request; within three working days you have your made-to-measure quote. Prices in GBP, excl. UK VAT and import duties, which are payable on delivery. Delivery to the UK is quoted with your offer. We supply, we don't install; a local installer fits the windows.
