Reynaers SlimLine 38
Reynaers' slim steel-look profile: 33.5 mm of frame in view, in aluminium.
Reynaers SlimLine 38
With 33.5 mm of frame and 33 mm of sash in view (Classic; Cubic and Ferro 38.5 mm frame, T-section 48 mm), SlimLine 38 recreates the slim lines of traditional steel windows — the look often called Crittall-style — in aluminium. Frame depth 99 mm with an 86 mm sash for Classic, 76 mm frame for Cubic and Ferro; Uf 1.9 W/m²K; the HI+ version reaches down to 0.74 W/m²K as a whole window (Uw, so including the glass). There are four styles: Classic, Cubic, Ferro and Functional. The profile is Cradle to Cradle certified and, according to the manufacturer, 100% recyclable.

How much does a Reynaers SlimLine 38 window cost?
Our guide prices come from our own quote history, and this type has not come up in it for this profile. That is why there is no amount. Just request the quote: we work it out on your own sizes.
The price of a SlimLine 38 window depends on four things: the overall size, the layout (fixed, tilt and turn, door), the glass and the colour. If there is an amount above this section, it is a guide price from our quote history — not a quote and not a final price; the configurator itself shows no amount. You put your window together, send it as a request, and the price for your sizes is in the quote — you'll hear from us within three working days. Prices in GBP, excl. UK VAT and import duties, which are payable on delivery. Delivery to the UK is quoted with your offer; hardware and any discount are itemised in the same quote. We supply, we don't install, so there is no fitting cost in it and we don't pass one on.
Configure and request a quoteReynaers SlimLine 38 cross-section — fixed light and tilt and turn window
The drawings show the system to scale, from outside (left) to inside (right): on the left the outer frame with a fixed light, on the right the frame and a tilt and turn sash side by side. What stands out is how little profile stays in view: 52 mm for a fixed light, 105.5 mm for frame and sash together. The hatched chambers between the outer and inner shell are the thermal zone; the glass in the drawing is 4-20-4, the lightest double glazing.
The glass is held in frame 4030223 by a glazing bead. This is the narrowest frame we carry: 52 mm of profile in view, the rest is glass. It is the reason to choose this one for the look of a steel window.
Horizontal section through the hinge side: frame 4030223 with sash 4030292 inside it, 105.5 mm in view together. The 11.6 mm between them is the gap with the gasket; the sash itself is 41.9 mm wide.

The card shows Uf 1.9 W/m²K, 99 mm frame depth (the Classic frame) and 33.5 mm sightline (the frame only; frame and sash together has not been given) — figures from the Reynaers system data, supplied to us on 14 September 2026. Uf 1.9 is the heat loss through the profile itself. For the HI+ version the manufacturer gives a Uw instead — the heat loss through the whole window including the glass — of down to 0.74 W/m²K; that figure can't be compared with a Uf on its own, so we list it separately. Uw is the kind of figure Part L asks for, but the 0.74 is the manufacturer's best case, not the value of your window: that is in the quote.
This is a schematic cross-section, built from the measured frame depth, frame width and sightline. The chamber layout, seals and reinforcement are not measured — they come from the supplier's technical drawing.

| Why something else | A comparable aluminium base with a wider sightline (128 mm frame and sash together, against 33.5 mm frame here) but a better-documented Uf of 0.83 W/m²K for the whole profile. | Wider sightline — 89 mm frame and sash together against 33.5 mm frame here — but a lower Uf: 1.76 W/m²K in the HI version against 1.9 for the SL 38. | The other steel-look alternative in our range: 97 mm sightline for frame and sash together, the narrowest of the Aluprof windows, with a Uf of 1.5 W/m²K for the whole profile — where the SL 38 only has the Uf of the HI version (1.9). |

Where is the SlimLine 38 a good fit?
New build
Suitable. Aluminium is the usual choice once the opening gets larger than uPVC can handle.
Renovation
Suitable.
Listed buildings and conservation areas
Ask your local planning authority first. Aluminium with a slim sightline is sometimes accepted where uPVC is not.
Standards and Building Regulations in the UK
We supply, we don't install, so fitting is your installer's work. In the Netherlands, where we are based, the VKG fitting guidelines for uPVC windows and doors and the KVT guidelines for joinery sit side by side. Both come down to what good practice asks anywhere: the opening has to allow an airtight, watertight, flat and square joint, and the loads on the window have to be carried into the structure through its fixings. Replacing windows in England and Wales is notifiable building work: an installer registered with a competent person scheme (FENSA or Certass, for example) notifies it, or you notify building control before the work starts. Because we don't fit, this sits with your installer — agree it before you order.
Every window placed on the market in the EU carries a CE marking to EN 14351-1: with it, the manufacturer declares that the product meets the essential characteristics in that standard, such as thermal transmittance, air permeability and wind resistance. It is a legal obligation for the manufacturer, not an inspection by an independent body, and on its own it says nothing about UK Building Regulations.
On energy performance: in England, Approved Document L (Volume 1: Dwellings, 2021 edition) requires a replacement window in an existing home to reach a U-value of 1.4 W/m²K or Window Energy Rating band B. For a door that is more than 60% glass the limit is 1.4 W/m²K or DSER band C; for other doors 1.4 W/m²K or DSER band D. A replacement may not perform worse than what it replaces. That U-value is for the whole window (Uw). The Uf on this page is the profile alone and the Ug is the glass alone — neither is the figure Part L asks for. The Uw of your window, at your sizes and with your glass, is stated in your offer. Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own rules.

Frequently asked questions about the Reynaers SlimLine 38
Can you deliver this profile to the UK?
Delivery to the UK is quoted with your offer. Reynaers SlimLine 38 is made to order; production time is 6 to 8 weeks. You enter your postcode when you request a quote. The route always ends with a quote request: no guesswork price, but a quote for your sizes. For this profile that applies in any case: there is no automatic price yet, so your request always goes to the manufacturer for a made-to-measure quote.
What sizes can I order?
Reynaers sets the limits per sash, not per window: a window sash up to 2,800 mm high and 170 kg, a door leaf up to 3,000 mm high and 1,400 mm wide at 160 kg (Reynaers, reynaers.com, 15 September 2026). The widest opening part in our table is therefore 1,400 mm. Reynaers gives no maximum width or height for the complete assembled window — that is still open. The configurator keeps to the sash limit; for a large window, ask us to check the size.
How long does it take?
Production time is 6 to 8 weeks, the same for all our suppliers (our figure as of 15 September 2026). Delivery to the UK is quoted with your offer. The quote itself is quicker: you'll hear from us within three working days of your request; if it takes longer, you'll hear that within the same three working days, with the date it will be ready.
What exactly will I receive?
What you put together in the configurator is what you get: the profile you chose, in your size and layout, with the glass and colour you picked for it. The summary — the last step before your request goes out — lists line by line what is in your order, and anything not listed there isn't included. So you know before you unpack, not after. How and where it is delivered in the UK is set out in your offer.
Do you install it as well?
No. We supply, we don't install. That has one consequence you need to know about: replacing windows in England and Wales is notifiable building work. An installer registered with a **competent person scheme** (FENSA or Certass, for example) notifies it for you; otherwise you notify building control before the work starts. Because we don't fit, this is down to your installer — agree it with them before you order. Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own rules.
Which glass and colours can I choose?
We stock six types of glass: HR++ double glazing (Ug 1.1), triple glazing (HR+++, Ug 0.6), obscure glass in double and triple, and P4A laminated safety glass in double (Ug 1.0) and triple (Ug 0.6). For colour there are solid core colours, dark and other foils for uPVC, and smooth or textured powder coating in RAL colours for aluminium. Which combination is available on this particular profile, the configurator tells you — it refuses a combination that doesn't exist rather than quietly supplying it.
Can I send it back if I change my mind?
No. A window built to your measurements is made to measure, and made-to-measure goods fall outside the right to cancel. We tell you that before you order, not in the small print. In return, we take the risk out at the start: a size guarantee, a sample pack so you can see the colour in your own light, and a fixed procedure if something is damaged on delivery.
What if something is damaged on delivery?
Check it with the driver before you sign, and have any damage noted on the delivery note. Until the window is in your hands, transport damage is **our risk**, not yours. If you still find visible damage when you unpack, report it with photos **within two working days of delivery**. That doesn't cover what you *couldn't* see on delivery: for hidden defects your normal statutory rights on faulty goods apply.
