Why this combination

Why a 3-pane window, 2 tilt and turn in Schüco LivIng City?

The Schüco LivIng City is the version of the LivIng Variant in which the sash is recessed into the outer frame, with straight, flat lines — the cleanest-looking of the four LivIng versions we supply, and not the same as the Vlak, which is the LivIng 82. The City is 120 mm deep, with a 6+1 chamber system in outer frame and sash, a sightline that starts at 92 mm, and a rebate for glass or a panel up to 52 mm thick. The stated heat transfer value for the profile is Uf 1.1 W/m²K; watertightness class 9A, air permeability class 4 and wind load class C5/B5. If you want a LivIng with a shallower frame, see the Vlak (82 mm); if you want the recessed sash with a chamfered face, see Verdiept 6° or 15°.

One pane stays fixed, the two beside it both open: this wide window gives more air than the 3-pane window with one tilt and turn sash, without as much hardware as the 3-pane window with three tilt and turn sashes.

This window puts the fixed pane at one side and makes the other two panes both tilt and turn. That gives ventilation in two places across the window instead of one, while still leaving one wide piece of unbroken glass for the view. Compared with the 3-pane window with one tilt and turn sash, this is more hardware and so a higher price; compared with the 3-pane window with three tilt and turn sashes it is less of both, the difference being that the latter has no fixed pane left at all.

The standard size is 2,400 × 1,500 mm, split equally between the three panes. In the configurator you choose which side the fixed pane goes on.
