3-pane window with two tilt and turn sashes, made to measure
One pane stays fixed, the two beside it both open: this wide window gives more air than the 3-pane window with one tilt and turn sash, without as much hardware as the 3-pane window with three tilt and turn sashes.

This window puts the fixed pane at one side and makes the other two panes both tilt and turn. That gives ventilation in two places across the window instead of one, while still leaving one wide piece of unbroken glass for the view. Compared with the 3-pane window with one tilt and turn sash, this is more hardware and so a higher price; compared with the 3-pane window with three tilt and turn sashes it is less of both, the difference being that the latter has no fixed pane left at all.
The standard size is 2,400 × 1,500 mm, split equally between the three panes. In the configurator you choose which side the fixed pane goes on.
Two tilt and turn panes side by side let you open both and still keep a third, fixed pane that screens part of the room from passers-by or keeps a direct draught off a seat. That makes this split a good fit for a living room where you'd rather not have the full width open, but want more air than one pane gives.
Of the four 3-pane windows, this sits exactly in the middle: more ventilation than the 3-pane window with one tilt and turn sash, more glass kept than the 3-pane window with three tilt and turn sashes. If you're torn between those two, bear in mind that the fixed pane here always stays a third of the width — in the 3-pane window with three tilt and turn sashes it disappears entirely and all three panes open.
With this layout you allow for two swing zones, side by side next to the fixed pane. Measure up the room where the two tilt and turn panes will go, and look further than just the wall next to them: a curtain, a radiator or a cupboard that isn't directly in view can still get in the way once a sash is fully open.
Maintenance on this window is in the two tilt and turn panes; the fixed pane needs nothing. Colour and finish follow the same chart as any other pane, and with three panes side by side most people prefer one continuous colour across the full width, so the fixed pane doesn't stand out as a separate element next to the two opening ones.
In a renovation, people often choose this layout when more air is needed than the old arrangement gave, without making the whole window open. In a new build this split is often used in a room that has to be reachable from two sides — a through room, for example — so there is a tilt and turn pane within reach from either direction.
For break-in resistance, the two tilt and turn panes are the point to watch; the fixed pane has no hardware to get a grip on. For a ground-floor window, ask about a stronger locking cylinder on both tilt and turn panes.
In the fixed pane you can use the heaviest glass with no consequences for hardware; in the two tilt and turn panes, weight counts for the hardware. The configurator checks this per pane as soon as you enter the size and the glass.

Request my quoteFrequently asked questions about a 3-pane window, 2 tilt and turn
What is the difference from the 3-pane window with three tilt and turn sashes?
In the 3-pane window with three tilt and turn sashes all three panes open; here one stays fixed for an unbroken stretch of view. That one has more ventilation and more hardware; this window keeps a larger area of glass with no sash in it.
Where is the best place for the fixed pane?
That depends on the room — usually on the side with the best view, or with the most in the way of a sash swinging open.
Can the two tilt and turn panes be open at the same time?
Yes, they are independent of each other and each has its own hardware and handle. You open them separately, on tilt or fully turned.
Is this window suitable for a kitchen with cooking fumes?
Two tilt and turn panes give more airflow than one, which helps with cooking fumes. For proper extraction you still need a mechanical system; this window adds to that, it doesn't replace it.
