Fixed window with top light in Schüco LivIng Verdiept 15

The Schüco LivIng Verdiept 15° is the version of the LivIng Variant in which the sash is recessed into the outer frame, with a 15° chamfer on its face — the look most common on Dutch houses, with the sash set back. The system is 120 mm deep; the outer frame is 90 mm wide and, together with the sash, shows a 140 mm sightline (Schüco system manual, Systemschnitt 15°). The sash is 82 mm deep and carries a steel box section; the rebate takes glass from 24 to 52 mm. The stated value for the profile is Uf 1.1 W/m²K. Two fixed panes one above the other, divided by a transom: a narrow, tall window that only lets light through.

This window splits into two fixed panes: a small one at the top and a larger one below. Neither opens — it is the fixed window raised into a taller, narrower shape. That suits a stairwell, a hallway, or a strip of wall next to a door that already lets in enough air, where you're mainly after height and light rather than ventilation.

The standard size is 1,000 × 1,800 mm, with the top pane taking a quarter of the height and the lower pane the rest. If you do want to ventilate in exactly that spot, the fixed window with tilt-in top light — the same two-part window with a bottom-hung sash instead of the fixed top light — is the form that provides for it, without the look changing.
